Why are you like this? Like what?
So I moved apartments. And had to disconnect my DVR and get another one set up on the new account. I am re-addicted to being able to record pretty much anything I want. Currently on my "Record All Episodes" list is Veronica Mars (duh), Everwood, and ... My So-Called Life. ( Like how you are )Everwood was amazing last night. I had forgotten how much I used to love Ephram and Amy together. That last scene totally made me get back on the angst filled will they or won't they bus for those two. Even more enjoyable is the Bright and Hannah stuff. She's neurotic and inexperienced and he's dumb and equally inexperienced in actually relationships. Thus, it doesn't feel contrived when she freaks out about his "three and out" philosophy, nor that he doesn't even understand what he's done wrong. And when he said "I've never wanted a fourth date, or an eightieth, date before," I was so happy. Everyone should be watching this amazing show which really does earn the right to pull off storylines like these, though I've seen them done before on other shows, they never feel hackneyed here. Hellooo, Cleveland!
So, um, hi! Here I am. Nothing interesting has been keeping me from LJ, I just haven't felt like posting. But there's so much tv on these days that I have to share my thoughts on! So here we go. -Last night, on Kitchen Confidential, at the end when Jack was waiting for the delivery truck and he let out that puff of smoke? Swoooooon. Why was Will never this hot on Alias (except of course, when he came back third season and was a fake rock star with Syd)? -Michael Scofield sure is pretty, but I am having a hard time paying attention to Prison Break. I think it is the outside storylines that really drag. Or possibly that I can never actually follow anything that Robin Tunney* is saying when she is onscreen because I am so distracted by her utterly bizarre eyebrow grooming choices. Grrrr...
My Yahoo mail is freaking out on me right now and it is beyond frustrating, since I have important job and apartment related emails waiting for me there. Trying to keep my mind off of it, I'll move on to some ( popculture stuff. ) Current Mood: aggravated | | Thursday, June 23rd, 2005 | | 5:10 pm |

Today might just be the best fic day ever!
Well, that might be an exaggeration. Especially since a lot of the stories are WIPs, but still! Amazing stuff today. Usually, I leave the rec'ing to vm_fic, but poor kieyra confessed that she had been scared away from VM fic before she even read my 12-step program! Plus, she's super bored today, so here's a list of great fics posted today (or yesterday) with some comments: ( Creativity in the VM world does exist! ) Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson | | Thursday, June 16th, 2005 | | 5:24 pm |

Drinking is bad, mmmkay?
I'm having a bad day, due entirely to my own stupidity. I got way too drunk last night and said some things I shouldn't have and now I'm reaping the benefits of my own big mouth. I wish someone would write a fluffy VM fic for me to cheer me up. Current Mood: anxious | | Friday, May 27th, 2005 | | 10:50 am |
It's the Capricorn in me.
Does your birth month determine who you are? RULES: 1. Pick your birth month. 2. Strike out anything that doesn't apply to you. 3. Bold the five that best apply to you. 4. Copy to your own journal, with all twelve months under a cut. JANUARY: Stubborn and hard-hearted. Ambitious and serious. Loves to teach and be taught. Always looking at people's flaws and weaknesses. Likes to criticize. Hardworking and productive. Smart, neat and organized. Sensitive and has deep thoughts. Knows how to make others happy. Quiet unless excited or tensed. Rather reserved. Highly attentive. Resistant to illnesses but prone to colds. Romantic but has difficulties expressing love. Loves children. Loyal. Has great social abilities yet easily jealous. Very stubborn and money cautious.( And for all you other months... )Also, it is really annoying when you make plans to go to lunch and people keep inviting other people, so you end up with a group of 10 instead of like the 4 you originally planned on. Icon Love I have finally gotten some icons. Thanks to shanilia for Hand in Hand, bluesuzanne for Physics, and e1us1v3_0n3 for the Dashboard/Bright/Hannah one.
Now here's a question: how do I make it so that in my Everwood post, it will always show up with the Everwood icon? | | 3:24 pm |

Josh Schwartz gives good finale I was so over The O.C. until like 2 weeks ago. Then they ramped up the drama , and they made Marissa pretty again, and Seth and Summer started acting like they actually liked each other, and I was sucked back in. I even liked that Theresa showed up, because I am a continuity whore and was wondering if that dropped storyline was ever coming back. Wherein I pretend I've actually read the whole damn thing
Ready for some pretension? Ok, here we go: I always told myself that if I ever started a weblog/journal/internet thingy, that I would love to incorporate this made up word from Ulysses, found here about halfway down the page. I think it's the best description of that sort of surreptitious flirtation that you do with your eyes (in a book like Little Women, they call it "making eyes" at somebody), even though it's probably more the academic discussion that's got Eglinton all excited in there, with Joyce, who can really tell? And as you can see by looking at my interests, longing glances, flirty looks, etc, I LIVE for that crap. So that's why it's called ShyBrightly. |
